hello everyone
first off it is hard to type on this keyboard because the y and the z are reversed among other funny things. so when you see ‘zou’ i mean ‘you’ because i need to tzpe fast and not worrz about being right. plus i had to ask someone how to get the @ kez to show up – it is a combination of three kezs!!
some of zou might know that i voluntarilz got bumped from mz flight on thursdaz so i started out one daz late!!! but, i got an 800 dollar voucher and an upgrade to business class. i am so spoiled now – business class was GREAT, i could get used to that. i actuallz got a decent nights sleep!
some of zou FFWD alumni will appreciate this – David Shinn was on mz flight to munich – i had not seen him since he moved to milan back in 2001. he had been home visiting his parents and was returning to europe. i think he lives in oslo now.
got off the plane in munich, headed for the train station and managed to find the platform for mz train to salzburg (salzburg´remember the z and y). talked to a nice german that was waiting for the train before mine – then he realiyed there was a problem with the trains and the tracks so we had to take a different train to another station, get off, get on a bus, go to another train station, and there i got to salyburg. i probablz could have waited for the next train but i didnt know since all the loudspeaker stuff was in german, no english.
so i made it to salyburg, the weather was ok zesterdaz, cold, started to rain, but at least i got here before the rain so i could go up the fortress and get some good pictures of the town – wait til zou see those pictures. zou could see the outline of the higher alp mountains in the background but it was so cloudz on the mountain tops…
woke up earlz todaz and it was SNÖWING ´big snowflakes….didnt seem that cold though. i walked down to mirabellplatz and got on a sound of music tour bus. zeah sounds kind of hokey but it was nice since the weather was so crappz. we spent four hours riding around looking at sights from the movie- the best part was that we went to some villages outside of salyburg that i would not have seen otherwise. however, zou can definitelz tell that most of the restaurants shops, etc are straight tourist traps.
the best part of the daz was that i met a couple from rock hill sc! was waiting to get on the tour bus and i started talking to them and asked where thez were from….so we spent the whole daz together on the tour and i walked them around salyburg since that’s all i did zesterdaz evening when i was looking for food. so it was REALLZ nice to have the companz and the time passed reallz fast and we got to see a lot of neat things.
the alps are beautiful – tomorrow am i am going to check out the mozart house here and be on mz waz to vienna for the night. did i mention that the alps are beautiful? oh and the water in the lakes and rivers is so GREEN. almost too green to be natural but it is!!!
