Return of Favre: Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers, 11.1.2009
Arguably one of the greatest sporting events I have ever been to (right below Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006) – the day Brett Favre came back to Green Bay with the Vikings to face the Packers. I don’t think my dad thought I was serious when I said “want to go?”.
It was fabulous. Lambeau Field is by FAR the BEST sporting venue I have ever been to (including the shiny and new super-sized Cowboys stadium). Here’s to hoping that Brett returns for another year….
Ebony and Ivory…..we saw a lot of this. The really crazy thing was all the people with the purple Favre jerseys and Green Bay “Starter” jackets.
Do you think Brett saw it?
Mecca. The great, Vince Lombardi.
So this is what Super Bowl trophies look like…..
Vikings coming out – listen to the boos for Brett (the very last Viking out):
Green Bay takes the field! Awesome stadium with a great vibe.

Panthers @ Tampa Bay Bucs, 2009
On Friday I hopped a flight down to Tampa to visit a dear friend, Debbie – where all we did was watch football all weekend!
First up was the wonderful old Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City in Tampa. This place has been around since 1905! If you go, I suggest you get a seat in the room with the stage so you can watch the flamenco dancers perform! The food was great and the sangria was too – I highly recommend it!
The weather was BEAUTIFUL in Tampa that weekend. It wasn’t too hot and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Unfortunately, the Bucs had fallen upon hard times, so there were some empty seats…and the Panthers weren’t doing so hot either. Luckily, we (the Panthers) emerged as the winners of the two losers.
Me representing in a sea of red….
Debbie lived in Charlotte and is a Panthers fan too but she had to root for her “home” team.
1st Monday Night Football Ever in Cowboys Stadium!
Sunday morning, my dad and uncle and I went out to the new Cowboys Stadium to take the behind-the-scenes stadium tour. It was excellent! It was very long – at least 2 hours – but it was worth it, this is really an amazing stadium.
Looking down on the field from the press box. The field is artificial turf, of course, and is in the process of being laid down for Monday’s game.
You really get a perspective on how big that TV screen is…
View from the upper deck, end zone:
Down in the gallows – the locker room!
Tony’s locker:
Coach Wade Phillip’s chair. I farted on it (kidding).
Tony takes his craps on the field, not in the locker room bathroom.
Ceiling in the Miller Lite Club, where the Cowboys run through as they come out on the field:

Fast forward to Game Day!! FIrst Monday Night Football game in the new Cowboys Stadium.
Warming up!
Here’s the presentation for “The World’s Largest Video Boards”. You can see that Jerry is very happy.
Pep!!
This picture also gives you perspective on where we were sitting – maybe 17 rows up in the endzone’s lowest level. The video boards were so good that I found myself looking up at it when the plays were happening on the far side of the field. Which made my neck hurt the next morning.

The pictures end here. I was too busy watching the game!!! Oh. We lost.
But it was fun and a great experience.
